In our previous post, we introduced you to QR (Quick Response) codes. One of the concepts of using QR codes is to link an offline environment with online content using a mobile device. Here are some of the ways you can use the codes in research and training.
- In the process of creating an ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) account, there is a step that allows you to create a QR code of your research profile. Create the code and add it your CV, Email signature and other platforms.
- When making class handouts create a QR code that leads to additional online resources you would want your students to refer to. Some publishers have embedded QR codes to journal articles in the articles. To share the article therefore, one only needs to copy and share the code
- Add a QR code of your research portfolio to your presentation slides
- Your business card could also include a QR code of your research profile
These are just a few of the potential ways QR codes can be embedded in research and learning.
