ORCID stands for Open Researcher and Contributor ID. The ID is a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes you from every other researcher. Your ORCID account profiles you as a researcher.
What are the benefits of having an ORCID?
- With an ORCID account you can showcase all your publications from a single account regardless of varied name forms that may have been used in the different research works you have authored
- An ORCID is also required when updating your staff profile
How do I get an ORCID?
- REGISTER– Get your unique ORCID identifier
- You will be required to verify your email through a link that will be sent to the primary email you register with.
- ADD YOUR INFO-Enhance your ORCID record with your employment and educational information and research works. You can add the ID to your CV as part of your Bio data. The details on the account are similar to the information you add on your CV.
- Add your publications by clicking on “+Add works” under the “Works” tab
- USE YOUR ORCID ID- Include your ORCID identifier on your Webpage, when you submit publications, apply for grants, and in any research workflow to ensure you get credit for your work.
How will my ORCID ID look like?
