The January 2021 edition of Webometrics ranking has placed Kenyatta University at third position after University of Nairobi and Egerton University respectively. The ranking results are usually released in January and July of every year. The current edition has dropped the metric on presence. The ranking is therefore based on visibility/impact, transparency/openness and excellence. The University’s best performance was in the metric of openness where we were placed second after UoN. This metric considers the cumulative citations of the top 210 authors from the respective institution. The primary objective of the ranking is to promote open access.
