ORCID-The Open Researcher and Contributor ID

orcid-logoYour name may have appeared in different forms in different publications. The Open Researcher and Contributor ID is an author ID that aims to solve the author/contributor name ambiguity problem in scholarly communication.

Why should you register for an ORCID?

  • Showcases all your publications from a single account regardless of whether your name has appeared in different forms in different publications
  • distinguishes you and ensures your research outputs and activities are correctly attributed to you
  • improves recognition and discoverability for you and your research outputs
  • reliably and easily connects you with your contributions and affiliations
  • reduces form-filling (enter data once, re-use it often)
  • is interoperable (works with many institutions, funders, and publishers)
  • is persistent (enduring)

Your ID remains the same throughout your career, no matter where you work, who funds you, whether your name or field of research changes.  Click here to register for an ORCID ID
